Every time I start mikroC PRO for ARM (and Visual TFT as well), I have to answer a scary dialog. (More precisely, I have to make the scary choice when this dialog appears.)
"Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC"?
I think it is requesting admin privileges. Even if that is not the case, you should do whatever "normal" Windows programs do to avoid this message. There is no real reason to require elevated privileges once installation is done.

Re: Eliminate reliance on elevated privileges
Hi,
Have you installed this software as administrator?
Which operating system do you use?
Kind regards,
Aleksandar

Yes, and Windows 10
Re: Eliminate reliance on elevated privileges
Hi,
And when you run the application as Admin ?
Does this message show up ?
Regards,
Filip.

Re: Eliminate reliance on elevated privileges
Why would I do that
That's kind of the point -- once installation is complete, I should be able to run it (gracefully) as a regular user.

Hi,
Yes, you are right about this, but just for the sake of solving this issue, could you run it as Admin ?
If this doesn't help, you could try to uninstall it and run the install it again by right-clicking the installation EXE file and choosing Run As Admin ?
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Filip.

Re: Eliminate reliance on elevated privileges
Now that I understand it, I can live with the current behavior.
I'd just like to see it fixed in a future version. Thanks.

Re: Eliminate reliance on elevated privileges
Now that MicroC Pro version 5.0.0 is out, I tried what was suggested before -- run the installer as Admin -- i.e., right-click, then "run as administrator".
No problem installing, but when I start the compiler as a regular user, I still see the same dialogs. So basically, installing as administrator did not make a difference.
