Re: please add pic16f570
Hi Jody,
I'm sorry, but unfortunately, at this moment, it will not be added support for
PIC16F570, because it has 12-bit wide instructions.
Only MCUs with >= 13-bit wide instructions will be considered.
Thank you for understanding.
Kind regards,
Lana

Hi Lana
What about the Pic16F527 device?
These are the most cost sensitive devices on the Microchip
website? and would suit my cost sensitive needs
Please let me know
thank you kindly
Best regards
Jody

I have been looking for a compiler for Pic16F527 for almost 4 years without success.
Gave up and are using Pic18F1320 + some Atmel Attiny's.
I'm a hobbyist but I understand your interest i the low cost '527, only 50 cents here in Norway in single quantity.
Please let med know if you find a compiler for this chip in any language.
regards,
Nils

Hi,
Unfortunately, PIC16F527 will not be supported at this moment,
since it also has 12-bit wide instructions.
Kind regards,
Lana

Re: please add pic16f570
Hi Lana,
My $1500 investment into Mikroelekronica's products, is beginning to feel
like an extremely expensive mistake as i have never fruitfully really received good support
as this is my second unfruitful query in 4 years (i have only sent 2 in total),
Sadly Europe electronics market does not understand the extent to which
South Africa's electronics market is more competitive than china's and really how
price sensitive we really are.
the difference between using a pic16F527 and using a Pic16F1707 means
that i will make a loss on the product just to sell it.
So please i do understand that it would a allot of work just for one customer
but as a suggestion could Mikroelektronics please in future consider putting all the cost effective parts
under there supported MCUs?
Thank you kindly
Best Regards
Jody

Hi Jody,
I perfectly understand your situation,
and that is hard to move from PIC16F527 to PIC16F1707.
I will talk more with our developers, but at this moment,
it is rule for our compilers that support will not be added
for MCUs which have less than 13-bit wide instructions.
Regarding you first request, STM32F030 is now supported in our compilers for ARM.
Kind regards,
Lana

Hi Lana
Thank you for the reply
I would be truly greatfull if you could chat to the developers
About this one I see there is really only 2 devices in this class
I do use the stm32f030 arm devices for most of my applications
However the device will not work for my current application
As the criteria is through hole
And sadly the Avr prices in South Africa are crazy expensive
A device marked 50 dollar cents in SA Is close to 5 dollars each in small
Volumes
Thank you kindly
Best Regards
Jody

Hi Jody,
I have talked with our developers once again,
unfortunately, it is not possible to add support for MCUs which has less than 13-bit
wide instructions, because compiler is made on that way that it requires that kind of SP.
Kind regards,
Lana
