Unexpected Failure to load .hex files successfully

#1 Post by amfortas » 17 Jun 2020 17:42

I have used micoPascal Pro for PIC v 6.5.0 5.0 for years and have fully enjoyed the experience !
Whilst working on a software upgrade, suddenly my .hex files when loaded into an 18F452 would not run and showed signs of wrong oscillator settings (Everything running too slowly). The settings appear correct.

Loading historic working .hex files produced the same result.

I am running Windows 8.1 from a fast SSD.

Since the problem exists with any .hex file new or old, I suspect that either the Utility Suite Loader or the mikro prog, or indeed the programming lead may be faulty ?

This rather elderly setup owes me nothing so I intend to upgrade to the latest Pascal Compiler and Loader, however before doing so I would be interested
to hear if this problem is known and it's possible reasons ?

very many thanks,

Hi all,

The problem is solved. The ribbon cable from the MicroProg had a fault. I used a short extension to eliminate switching regulator affecting an RFID host. The fault was in this.
The fault had nothing to do with the M.E. system. So I can now perchase the latest compiler without risk.

Mea Culpa!
