Perhaps I should've summised by adding "for commercial/industrial projects" :wink:

So apparently there is a silicon erratum with this particular MAX232 device? This is one worth remembering for full duplex commercial designs...

That is one option. Other one is to avoid using MAXIM MAX232 IC. We will start using only TI MAX232.
