mikroProg Suite for PIC -- Vcc voltage error!

#1 Post by PLEG54 » 22 Feb 2022 02:56

Hello,
I have an EasyPIC v7 and I program a P12F617. Under VCC+5V it's OK, everything works correctly. On the other hand under VCC+3.3V
I systematically get the error of the type 'Vcc voltage error! (3.29 volts)'.
I tried to program the P12F617 with PICkit3 and PICkit4, via the 'EXT ICD' plug, with success in both cases whether under VCC+5V or VCC+3.3V
The version of mikroProg Suite was v2.80, which I upgraded to v2.90 with still the same defect (see attached screenshots)
Have you ever encountered this problem, and did you solve it?
Thank you very much for your answers, to read to you,
Cordially,
Philippe LE GUEN

Hi,

I suspect that mikroProg expects that VDD for this device is 5V, so when you apply 3V3 it cannot program it.

Regards,
Filip.

Hi Filip,

Thank you for your reply. To date I have replaced my EasyPIC v7 card (bought in 2012) with a new card, because it is defective.
The VCC-MCU voltage has failed, which means that mikroProg no longer works, and the MCU supports are no longer powered.
This happened following an unfortunate polarity inversion on a PIC12F617... :(

However even with the new EasyPIC v7 card the problem is the same.
It's not too serious for me, I have PICkit3 and PICkit4 which allow me to program my MCUs under 3.3V
This is still a problem for users who have no other way to program their MCUs under 3.3V because on this EasyPIC v7 board,
except the 5V/3.3V voltage selection jumper (J5), I don't see any other possibility to indicate to mikroProg that I'm working under 3.3V...

I had contacted MikroElektronika to ask them if it was possible to get the detailed diagram of mikroProg, but they told me that this circuit was protected,
so no diagram possible... that's why I replaced my EasyPIC v7 card which I absolutely cannot part with, so comfortable it is!

Good day to you, and thank you again for responding to my message.
best regards,
Philippe LE GUEN
