Stepper board pinout.

#1 Post by astram » 08 Jul 2011 09:21

Hello.

The stepper driver board feature a IDC10 ribbon connector soldered on it.

It is either short and sometimes all the pins are not needed when IO/Pins of MCU are rare, or when step size is fixed by project design;

I would suggest this simple modification in manufacturing:

Just like Ethernet or relay board, please fit the card with a male 10 pins connector and provide a separate
IDC10 ribbon cable, so that we could use either single wires or a longer custom made IDC10 connector on purpose.

I un-soldered the original ribbon to put a male IDC10 instead, this is worth doing it, but this sacrifices the original ribbon :)

Regards,
Christophe.

Hi,

First of all, I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the intervention on the board.
Thank you for the suggestion regarding the cable, I will pass it to our hardware department.

Regards,
Filip.
