dsPIC 24 and 33 support for SPI Versions LCD, LCD8, GLCD

#1 Post by richmond » 20 Mar 2009 04:36

Hi,

I have just purchased this compiler, and looking through the help file I find that SPI LCD, LCD8, GLCD and T6963C are NOT supported for dspIC 24 and 33, due to "voltage level differences".

I need these components for my first project using the 33FJ256GB710...and I will have wasted my money if the libraries wont support it.

Does this mean I cant compile it for those devices at all ?

Or, do I have to ensure correct voltage translation between the componenets, but that it WILL work if I do so ?

Please advise

Hi,

Generally, you should use voltage level translator,
because there is a difference in programing voltage level.
For that you must use voltage translators (3.3V >> 5V).

If you have some other questions, let me know.
