t2si timeout and clock

I am using the T2SI function with a 100-second timeout. However, I have found that the actual timeout elapsed is not necessarily 100 seconds. Any idea why that might be?

Sensory mentions that you can use Timer 2 or Timer 3 to multi-task, but I have no idea how to do this. Any thoughts?
