As the title suggests i have modded my easyavr4 for single PORTA lcd usage which involves only 3 track cuts+3 wire re-routes ,has i use codevisions avr C compiler with my board then running mikrobasic examples etc is not an issue for me ,but if this is a concern for you could employ dpst switches so enabling you both options.
Should there be enough interest in this modification i,ll gladly supply written details with jpgs.
