Necto & EasyPIC v7

#1 Post by informer » 14 Apr 2020 13:57

Hello,

Just installed Necto trial on a Linux machine... looks great!
However I cannot load a trivial code on a PIC18LF47K42 on an EasyPIC v7 board.
My assumption was that I should select my board on "Programmer&Debugger / ChooseTargetBoard:" list... that's not possible, nothing appears here.

So my first question is: can I use EasyPIC v7 board with Necto on Linux?

Thank you!

Hi,

At the time, Necto Studio supports only CODEGRIP programmers/debuggers, mikroProgs should be supported in Necto in the upcoming updates.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your answer.
Can you give me an idea if we are talking about nearest future or just about future? :D
I'm asking as I was tented to buy the new IDE with the promotional price (80% off - I bought mikroC before 2019) but I don't intend to replace EasyPIC V7 board... and that's important to know.
Thanks!

Hi,

I hope it will be soon, but I do not have information about the time-frame.
However, even then, I'm afraid you won't be able to program PIC microcontrollers using mikroProg on a Linux PC since the mikroProg Suite works only on Windows operating systems.

Kind regards,

Understood, thank you!
Considering these, unfortunately Necto it's not an option for me... at least for the time being. :|

Having now purchased Necto, this feature cannot come soon enough for me.

I will add my vote for support of the EasyPic V7. I have this development board already with no plans (or money) to replace it with a V8 board.
