Suggest an embedded solution for project?

I need a very small embedded solution to mount into a backpack. The board would log data from a WiFi/BT connection, as well as from a hardwired serial port. The user needs to see this data graphically (geophysical readings) on a small display, ideally wrist-mounted, with a few buttons. The backpack and wrist-display must be enclosed in a waterproof housing (can custom make), and should be low cost. I was thinking of an embedded device and battery in backpack with a cheap Chinese “waterproof” Android watch for the display. Any other suggestions? RaspberryPi worn on wrist or with long monitor cable from backpack? Sorry for noob question.
