Programing new Clicker 4 STM32F4

#1 Post by michael@skurla.net » 24 Dec 2023 23:17

I'm new to ARM. Using the STM32F4 on a Clicker 4. (Up until now, I've been a PIC guy). All new stuff. I'm using NECTO... But my problem seems to lie on the CodeGrip side.

I am using a MAC, and am connected via a USB C cable to the PWR/DBG port. It powers up fine, and I know how to get into bootloader mode when needed.

My problem is that I can't program the thing. I keep getting an error in NECTO saying, "Programming failed. Please update the firmware of the selected CODEGRIP module to the latest version". Fine. So, I went over to Code Grip to try this. It detects the board (as the images below will show), and it will even send FIRMWARE, but no matter how many times I send and successfully send the firmware, I can never actually use the Programming function. It constantly says Please update the firmware of the selected CODEGRIP module to the latest version.

I'm assuming this is something fundamental and my ignorance, but I've done this with other Clicker boards on other architectures and never had this issue. Any help would be appreciated. See images.

Hi,

The issue is on our part, we are aware of it and are working on the fix.

At the moment this only happens on MAC OS.

Regards,

Ivan.
