mikromedia 4 for STM32F7 Capacitive

#1 Post by burn-ship » 27 Mar 2020 06:22

Hello,

I have a mikromedia 4 for STM32F7 Capacitive (https://www.mikroe.com/mikromedia-4-for ... capacitive) and I seem to be missing some definitions to make it run with mikroC PRO for ARM, right out of the box. Please note that I am new to all this. I could not find much on this particular board in the forums either, am I the only one with this issue?

I managed to make the demo project for this board run. I found it at https://libstock.mikroe.com/projects/vi ... capacitive

Now I want to install a Click RS232 v2 board, but I can't get the example program to run out of the box. I changed the device name: STM32F746ZG, and installed the needed mikroSDK. I tick the library boxes for microSDK and the Click board. I also had to add the path to the mikroSDK/Uses directory to the project search path (can this be automatic?). After this, I get compilation error: "45 324 Undeclared identifier '_GPIO_MODULE_UART2_PA3_PD5' in expression __mm_plus_stm32f7_uart.c"

I read the mikroSDK does not support my board, (see https://libstock.mikroe.com/projects/view/2249/mikrosdk).
Also in the installation of mikroC PRO for ARM\Board Defs, I could not find my board definition. The existing Mikromedia_Plus_for_STM32F7_ARM isn't right, it has wrong touch pad controller, for instance. I don't understand how I can "install" the defs from mikromedia-sdk that I found in the demo project above so it can be used directly as a library.

There are other things I want to do of course. But I think you may already understand what I'm after. Could you please provide me with the basic packages that I need to get started with the mikromedia-4-for-stm32f7-capacitive ?

Thank you for any help or pointers you can give me.

Hi,

In order to run mikroSDK1.0 examples on the mentioned mikromedia, a new board definition package is required.
Could you please submit a support ticket on our Helpdesk, so we can send you the package and continue the correspondence there?

Kind regards,
Filip Grujcic

Thanks for your reply I will do so.

To add, I have a "Mikromedia Plus shield for STM32 ARM" which is a little different, but fits just like the "Mikromedia 4 Capacitive Shield" (I have both). Could you explain to a beginner like me, how do I handle the differences when adding click boards or addressing the connections on board of such shields?

FYI, I have some website bug report that you may know where to place:
The button "Helpdesk" on www.mikroe.com/support does not function (as do none of the buttons there -- I'm using Firefox 74.0). Going to https://helpdesk.mikroe.com directly does work, but how do I open a ticket there? no clue. I'm sending an email to support@mikroe.com instead.
