Codegrip with Mikopascal Pro for Pic

#1 Post by Donald Shimoda » 15 Jun 2021 06:10

Have an EasyPic Pro V 8, mikropascal v 7.6.0. Please tell me it can work together... Mikropascal just show mikroicd debugger, dont recongnizes codegrip?

Theres no new pascal compiler. is Micro C AI the only option?

Best regards.

Hello,

Are you able to detect your MCU from CODEGRIP Suite?
Click on the MCU name (the blue font at the top of the window) and find the MCU you are using then try to detect it.

BTW, as i must apply the bad resolution fix, because it appears half of the form, one time ant message becomes modal the app freeze and must close and restar, example:

Ok, i get this detected, but then the mikropascal hangs for ever... seems like codegrip and mikropascal works very bad. Must be obligated to use micro C AI. I buy the license... maybe time to make this change. Hope not very high learning curve.

Hello,

In order to use CODEGRIP directly from PRO compilers, you have to downgrade the firmware version to 1.3.0 for now.
Download the CODEGRIP Suite from the following link: http://help.mikroe.com/CODEGRIP%20Suite ... -win64.zip
Disable your internet connection before starting the installer (important, otherwise it's just going to download the newest version).
After you've installed 1.3.0 CODEGRIP Suite, go to Help > Updates > CODEGRIP and perform the firmware upgrade. This will make it so that your firmware version inside your programmer is 1.3.0 as well.

I think I have a smilar problem. However I can't install the older version of the codegrip suite as the installer complains about not being able to access the newer files !

This is serious disappointment - I've spent hundreds of dollars on unusable compiler and programmer !

Code: Select all

Have you disconnected the computer from the internet ?
Can you attach the screenshot of this error ?

I've managed to download v1.3 which is needed so mikroPascal can work (why don't you just fix the compilers when you update the firmware !)
I could then downgrade the software by disabling my LAN connection while it was running.

However I cannot load the v1.3 onto the EasyPic v8. I have followed these steps:
- start CodeGrip
- click on Help then Updates
- click Scan Devices, and power cycle the board. This results in the USB icon in the status bar going inactive, and "no devices are found"

The Codegrip suite says I have v1.3 installed but when I reconnect to the board (CodeGrip then Configuration) it shows the firmware version as 1.5

How do I downgrade it ?

Finally got it to work by borrowing a PC with Win10 64 bit.
Talk about an exercise in frustration. I just want to write software not fettle with a development board and poorly tested programming software
