Still can't turn off 'tabs to spaces'

#1 Post by ppounds » 10 Sep 2021 07:02

I've been using MikroC since 2006, and in all that time there has been a problem where when you save a file indented in tabs, they are replaced with spaces on next opening. Some experiments confirm that it is saving the file (rather than opening the file) that is doing it. I have tried every possible permutation of the tabs options in the editor options dialog; my suspicion is that the tabs-to-spaces option is not being evaluated correctly. Each time MikroC updates I hope for it to be fix... but it never is. Do the devs just hate tabs? :D

Nah, this problem has simply very low priority as may be concluded from the answer posted in 2012:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by this problem.
We are fully aware of the problem, it's on our TODO list and we'll resolve it according to our priority list.
