Segger J-link debug probe compatibility

#1 Post by Alessandro Fulignani » 11 Apr 2019 10:24

Hi All,

I bought a J-link from Segger. I'm trying to use it with MikroB without success (ReadDEVID Fail!).
The J-link version is 10.1 (18-11-2019) and the MikroB version is 6.1.0
Every attempt to comunicate give errors by the MikroB. If i est it with other compilers gives no problems.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Could you tell me exactly which MCU have you tried to program?
Have you tried to use J-Flash to program the MCU with the hex file generated by mikroBasic, and after that to run the debug by pressing F9 from the compiler?

Kind regards,
Stefan Filipović

Hi FIlip,

Now Using J-link with Segger V6.44e it is working fine.

But if i try to do someting under uB the answer is ReadDEVID Fail.

The board is a Kinetis Clicker and the uP it's a MK22FN512VLH12

I've tried everything, but no way.

Any suggestion?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I just tested this and I noticed that when I'm trying to program through IDE with J-Link Segger, the ReadDEVID error comes up.
Then I had to load the generated hex file into the J-Flash and program the Clicker board manually and after that, I was able to run the debugger (F9) and debug the code without issues.

Kind regards,
Stefan Filipović

Hi Filip,

Yes it works. Thank you.

Is it something that can be corrected/modified in the next uB release?

I'm in use to work with mikroE interface, but i was interested to test the system with another interface...

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Of course, I have already forwarded this to our developers, they will try to fix it as soon as possible.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this.

Kind regards,
Stefan Filipović
