ELF file generation.

#1 Post by The_YongGrand » 10 Nov 2019 15:48

I am hoping there are plans for the MikroC ARM to generate ELF files because they are often useful for JTAG debugging using OpenOCD. Unfortunately, the MikroE IDE is impeding my progress (it keeps crashing) to perform a debug normally, and I'm using a VSCode to do so, and if there are any plans for them to support a more modern IDE and also to generate ELF files, I'm supporting it.

Hello,

I forwarded this to our development team, so they keep it in the mind.

Kind regards,
Jovana

Thanks Jovana for the response. We already have the COFF for the PIC microcontrollers, so the ARM should have an ELF for that purpose as well.

Do you have the development team's plans like new features for the compiler to be made public?

Hello,

Unfortunately, development team's plans are not available publicly.
On the following link, you can see what is new when the compiler is updated.

It will not be done
Since it was asked to do this 7 years ago)
To use StmStudio, you have to manually write addresses
