On Press and Available functions

Hi everyone. I'm new to MikroE's environment, so sorry if these are newbie questions.
1) I am using the SmartGLCD module and want to continually send a command (say, every 100 ms) while a person presses a button on the display.
What is the best way to do this? Is there a 'button is still pressed' state that the Visual GLCD software can trap?
2) How do you learn about all the 'functions' available in Visual GLCD or even in MikroC? I have been looking for a software manual that will show all available functions and give a little explanation of what they do.
