Hello, Is there a possibility that one day MikroC may be able to run on a Linux machime?
Thank you Bill
MikroC and Linux
Re: MikroC and Linux
Yes, there is.
We are preparing all our compilers for Linux, we will put announcements and expectation dates when the time comes.

Thank you, I believe this will be a good thing.

I am not sure what will management decide, but I know that we are rewriting a lot of code, not because of Linux, but because of making command line compilers.Storic wrote:will this be a new licence mikroe (C, Pascal, ds, lv etc) under linux?
Tests show that the new compilers are 10-20x faster than current existing ones...
There are other enhancements too, but it's too early to show off.
The last time I tried to run mikroPascal under WINE, the install program worked, but the mP program didn't. It did, however, install all of the examples and other files where I could access them with a editor.
Even if mP worked, there's still the problem of the USB driver to download to the board. That has to be specifically tailored to Linux.

If you know what you're doing, you're not learning anything.
Hi,
At the moment I'm running VMware Server with a Windows image and this is working 100%, compiling and programming. The negative point here is that Windows is still running inside Linux.
Can't wait for the Linux compilers

I can also say that mikroPascal runs under wine. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04. picFlash however doesn't work due to the USB drivers.The last time I tried to run mikroPascal under WINE, the install program worked, but the mP program didn't. Another proud user of LV 24-33A Development System and mikroPascal PRO for dsPIC :)
PortA not working? Add CMCON := 7; PortD not working? Add ADCON1 := 6;
