Can I have a dongled version please?

#1 Post by pwdixon » 07 Oct 2006 09:21

I would love the option to buy a dongled registration key from ME instead of the current registration key system, then I could copy the program at will, keep runable backups and move between computers easily. What about it ME?

Great if you could do such a thing, I agree also in total with dongled software.

I'd also be interested in this as I switch between three machines whilst developing (one in office, one in workshop, and my laptop which goes everywhere). I'd also be happy to pay a little extra for it too :)

I think I've seen you posting on this before, hasn't it been days or even a week? What's the excuse?

Update?

Anymore information on the dongle ? I have a workstation for programming and another one tied to a work bench with my hardware and test equipment. Please provide some options or a second license option, I haven't registered the compiler yet, I have not figured out how to move between the machines.

hi,
install your version on usb memory stick and ask for your licence from there... so the key will be relate to your stick not your pc hard drive :-)
move your usb mem stick from another pc will not be a prob again... if they have the same letter on both pc.

hope that will hlp

happy coding 8)

Dongled Update

#10 Post by NormannTheDane » 08 Sep 2007 18:46

Is there any news on the dongle front???
The USB pen is a good idea but not a good one in the length.

Any updates?

I haven't bought yet, but being tied to 1 computer is a BIG downside. Besides the 3 computers I have at the moment, at least 1 gets replaced every 2 years...

I absolutely hate dongle keys, and I pray that mE stays clear of doing such a thing.

Again, I'd rather slide down a 100 foot razer blade, naked, using my butt cheeks as rutters - then having to babysit and not lose yet another dongle.

Bitburner -- A simple no would have been enough, just because you don’t want it doesn’t mean you have to be nasty about it.

A lot of people work on different machines i.e. one at home, one at work and maybe a laptop. Which means every time you switch to another machine you have to register all over again, but with a dongle it’s much easier, just plug it in and you are ready. And if you can’t keep track of your stuff then that’s your problem not ours.
