Does anyone have the drivers for Easypic 4 for XP 32 bits.

I've looked a bit deeper, and I think one would have to start messing with boot segments and general segments. Ds30Loader is also in the general segment at the moment along with the user application code. It would [possibly] need moving to a boot segment. The boot segment can only be at the start of...

Without the code protect it works fine. Looking at the hex of the dsLoder WITH code protect set on, the fuse is set to 0xFFFD, which I think is "code protect, allow program writes".

Code protect

I got the ds30 loader working on a dsPic30F6012A- happy with it. But how can I prevent someone from reading the program out of the chip with a programmer? I tried setting "config __FGS, CODE_PROT_ON" in settings.inc. I then have to comment out the verify stage in the main bootloader loop (and just r...

Just trying it now. No luck I'm afraid. Could you post the details of your magic cable?

There may be an even easier way than messing around with ribbon cables. See http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D ... 70176B.pdf page 4; it seems to suggest jumpering a couple of the programming pins which have changed location between 6012 and 6012A.

Thanks for that info. Not exactly clear on their website is it? I bet we're not the only people to fall foul of this. It's not so much the £5 for the board, it's the time, effort and postage spent getting the chip soldered on.

Don't suppose by any fluke you managed a bodge to get it working?

dsPicPro4 and 6012A

Does the dsPicPro4 support the 30F6012A? I bought the dspicpro4 and also a 64-pin carrier board to which I soldered the 30F6012A chip and all the other components. However, it is not recognised by the dsPicFlash programmer. Yes, I did set the chip type in dsPicFlash. Has anybody else had success wit...

EasyPic2 and 18f252

I am having real problems using the EasyPic2 to program a pic18f252. I can read from the chip OK, but whenever I try to write to it, I get a programming error. The number of program errors varies, but is usually aroun the 3000 mark. I have tried many 18f252 chips, all with the same result. The progr...
