I am still getting an error "host is unreachable". All the connection seems perfect. I am able to PING the router and my self (PC) but not to chip.

do i have to use a router or can i ping ENC28J60 just by using simple network/ ethernet cable?

So, I will have to use a router. Because so far I was only using the network cable. Whose one was coneected to my pc and the other one was to my i/o board.

I am new to programming and trying to ping enc28j60 form my pc. I don't know how can I ping ENC28j60. Should I just use example code and write ping command in command following by IP address of ENC28J60. or anything else?
