Re: Timer calculator algorithm

Hi, I'm using the STM32F107VCT6 specifically. yes, sorry, my post may look a little confusing . . . The period is the value that would be placed in the ARR register. Just to make things clear, the below is what I'm currently calculating and where the resulting values are used. #define CLOCK_CYCLES_P...

Timer calculator algorithm

Hi, I'm looking at embedding the calculation for the timer into my ARM C application, can anyone share a calculation (or maybe the code snippet) to generate the most appropriate pre-scaler and timer period values. Playing with the below code at the moment and the results are close to the timer calcu...

Re: I2C Running on STM32 Dev Board

Hi Filip What I’ve found since is that putting a oscilloscope probe on the data line makes it work. So adding a 22pf cap on the data line to ground lets it work correctly on the other dev board and my pcbs. But obviously this isn’t ideal. Putting the oscilloscope on the data line with the cap stops ...

Re: I2C Running on STM32 Dev Board

Update:

I've just loaded the firmware onto a Waveshare Open107V board and I'm getting the same results where the eeprom is not initializing. It would seem that the only place I can actually get this working is on the Mikroe Dev board.

Regards,
Paul

Re: I2C Running on STM32 Dev Board

The first image shows the schematic. I originally messed this up and didn't realise until too late that I had the component the wrong way around with the select pins towards the MCU. This is reflected in later images and the steps I took to get around the oversight. https://www.urbanpersonaltraining...

I2C Running on STM32 Dev Board

Hi All, I'm using the STM32F107VCT6 standard MCU card in a project and have an I2C device 24LC256 connected to the I2C bus on PB6 and PB7. STM32 Development Board The I2C component is connected directly to one of the headers (PB6. PB7) from a breadboard using 4k7 pullups on the I2C bus and this work...

Re: EasyMx PRO v7 for STM32 ADC Question

Hi Stefan, I knew there was a post somewhere I wrote some time back. For those that want to change the reference voltage, change the following SMD resistors. All components are type 0805. This 1.8V is also connected to the VS1053, since I don't use this functionality I don't really care and haven't ...

Re: Change ADC range to 0 to 3.3V

What kind of rubbish answer is that? You’re better off working out the correct resistor setup to give you the ref you need on the development board rather than lifting pins on the mcu.

EasyMx PRO v7 for STM32 ADC Question

Hi All, I'm using the above board in combination with the STM32F107VCT6 MCU card. I can see that pin 74 on the card is conected to the +Vref pin on the MCU. My question is does this connect to a voltage reference on the dev board or is this pin left floating which I assume is then using the 3.3V of ...

Re: Easy MX Pro for STM

Hi Mikroe people, In line with my original question, can you please tell me what package type you are using for R23, R24 and R25 on your EasyMX Pro V7 STM boards? I want to replace the resistors to give me a reference voltage of 2.048V rather than the 1.8V you are currently generating. BTW, I've cho...

Easy MX Pro for STM

The more I play with this board the more frustrated I become at it not being as flexible as it could be. There are the IO's dedicated to the graphics card that could be extended to the port headers should I not wish to use a graphics card. Now, its the 1.6V reference hard wired without jumpers to th...

Re: Debugging Questions on EasyMX Pro STM

Hi Stefan, Yes, works well, thank you. It is annoying though that not all pins are sent to the dev board from the MCU board. I can understand the ethernet IO's, but there are spare pins on the MCU that could be routed down. Even ethernet would have been better on the dev board rather than the MCU. R...

Debugging Questions on EasyMX Pro STM

Hi All, I'm using true Studio and the EasyMX Pro STM board (because it is an awesome piece of kit) and obviously can't use the on board debugger to debug my code. Would it work by using the ST-LINK unit connected directly to the board? Has anyone tried this or is there another way, perhaps something...

Re: mikroProg v1.6 Communication Error

Unfortunately we now have a guest staying in my study for the weekend, so access is limited :-)
However, it did seem to be working, so I'll see how it goes in a few days. If I'm still having issues, I'll try your suggestion and post the resolution up either way.
Cheers, Paul
